Birthday Night

It started with a spaghetti dinner and ended with a happy boy covered in cake!
 Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Cooper
Happy birthday to you!

 one (messy) happy birthday boy!
he opened a few gifts from us and Gma and Gpa
and then it was a picture with the birthday boy for Mom and Dad before bed

Happy First Birthday Cooper! We love our little caboose!

My last's first

365 days ago we were blessed with the sweetest, chubbiest, most lovable little boy! I can't believe this baby phase of our lives is over......soon we won't have any more sleepless nights, bottle feedings,  and dinners cutting foods into tiny pieces. Instead our days will be filled with homework, after school activities, fun trips where no one eats sand, cheering each other on from the stands of sporting events, girls days to get our toes painted, boys days filled with 18 holes and football, and late movie nights on the couch watching movies we all want to see......basically life is just getting better....but it's still sad to see this baby chapter close.
This little guy is just the perfect addition to our family and so today we were excited to celebrate him and enjoy his contagious laughter.
First things first.....Cooper's birthday marked a big milestone....he got to ride in a big, turned around carseat
and let's just say.....he loves it!
We have annual museum passes for the downtown Children's museum and once a month they have extended hours for pass members. It was Cooper's birthday night so we headed down to play and pretty much had the place to ourselves!

I see you!

It was super fun night playing with our kiddos and celebrating our growing boy!

Valentines Day

Caroline and Scarlett's school does not allow candy Valentines so each year it is a hunt to find cute ideas for Valentines that do not include food! This year we went with stickers:

and the teachers got Valentine cards with a bag of Hershey kisses

the kiddos and I had a little photo session so we could send out personalized Valentines

I mean.....does it get any cuter!?!?!?
 the lipstick aftermath
Valentines morning the girls woke up to a little holiday breakfast and a few small gifts. Scarlett got a little frozen doll and Caroline got a few "workout" clothes she's been asking for....so funny!
that day at school was fairy tale day so the girls got to wear their  FROZEN dresses......we have made GOOD use of those Christmas gifts!

Packages, Daddy Date, and Dresses

Last week while I was crazy sick a fun package arrived for the kiddos from Grandma and Grandpa. Scarlett has been potty training so new panties were in order, she was thrilled to sport her new Dora ones!

a new Doc McStuffins outfit arrived for Scarlett too, but somehow Caroline squeezed her little self in that 2T....HA!
brother got some new 24 mon gear as well!
oh my twin......she wanted me to take a picture of her with all her new panties laid out
Since Christmas we have been listening to the FROZEN soundtrack EVERY.MINUTE.OF.THE.DAY and Daddy was feeling like he needed to see the movie, since I took the girls twice without him! Saturday he took the girls to the movie/sing-a-long on a little Daddy Daughter date, complete with Elsa and Anna dresses of course! They loved it, even Daddy!
 Miss Elsa
 Miss Anna
even Daddy wanted in on the fun
for church on Sunday the girls wore their beautiful new dresses Aunt Laura got them....DARLING!

Besties Reconnected

Sixteen years ago I started college and subsequently started a friendship with 4 amazing women who have become my very best girlfriends. With kids, jobs, distance (we live in 5 different states), and busy schedules it has been about 5 years since we have all five been together.......SUPER overdue.....so last weekend we finally were able to reconnect, and spend the weekend enjoying and supporting each other. We ate, shopped, talked, laughed, ate, and boogied the night away together......just like old times. It was a much needed weekend to recharge my mama batteries, and enjoy the women who have loved and supported me since we met 16 years ago! Love you ladies!

one of the many yummy eats we hit up!
