Happy Birthday Patrick and Jimmy!

My hubbie turned 34 today (WOW I am married to an old man!) He had a super busy day with teaching, practice, and a game, so unfortunately we have to celebrate with the family on Thursday night! We celebrated a little this morning with a few gifts and when he gets home we will enjoy our favorite, Pazookie...with a few candles of course!!

Top ten reasons why I am so lucky to be married to the birthday boy:

10.He is a guy's guy......sports, hunting, fishing.....you name it, and he puts his competitive spirit into all that he does.
9. He is so good at helping me to see the positive in even the darkest situation, just being around him makes me smile.
8. He is always there for his friends, and is good at organizing fun activities so we always have reasons to get together.
7. He always makes me feel beautiful
6. He is a good provider, and will do anything to make sure I am taken care of.
5. He has a strong faith and I love that we pray together everyday
4. He has such a great relationship with his family
3. He makes me laugh everyday.....he could possible be the funniest person I know!
2. He is going to be the best Father ever...I can't wait to see him with our baby!
1. He is the most loving, wonderful husband I could have ever asked for!

Happy Birthday Patrick, I Love You!

Happy Birthday to my baby brother Jimmy as well....What a day!! Love You BRO!

One of Each!

No, we are not having twins....Thank Goodness! But due to us wanting to be suprised about the sex of this baby, I have been on the hunt for a boy and girl outfit for their first trip home! Today I got to cross that off the list! I found the sweetest white girl outfit with pink flowers and a matching hat, and the boy one is super soft and reversible! Our bag for the hospital is almost done......let the countdown begin (er.....I guess continue....the planner in me just can't help it :) !)

Conference Player of the week!

My little brother Jimmy is a sophomore at USC (South Carolina) and is their starting Goalkeeper. He has won lots and lots of awards in his soccer career, just thought I would include the latest!

Oct. 6, 2008
COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer has been named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Maurer collected his sixth shutout of the season, a single-season career high for the sophomore, to lead South Carolina to a 2-0 victory over Florida International last Saturday in its 2008 league opener. This is Maurer's fourth weekly honor in 2008 and the fifth of his career. The four honors tie for the most C-USA weekly men's soccer awards in one season.
Maurer paced the Gamecock defense, collecting five saves, including three in the first half against FIU on Saturday. Maurer ranks tied for first among C-USA keepers with a 0.68 goals against average this season, having allowed just seven goals, while playing every minute in net for Carolina (920 minutes).

Our own family celebrity!

Yesterday we got to do something really special as a family. Smokey (my father in law) was inducted into the Miami AZ High School Hall of Fame! The school and sports board worked really hard to make it a really full, eventful day for all those inducted and their families. We started out with a tour of the Miami Sports Hall of Fame Museum (a super extensive collection of school history and sports memoribilia dating back to 1912) and then proceeded to the new school (unfortunately the one Smokey attended has since been torn down). We were treated to a super yummy mexican lunch from a restaurant that Smokey used to actully go to as a boy. Than it was on to the ceremony where they honored individual athletes, coaches, and teams (all of which had to go through an extensive process to be nominated and than selected.) After the ceremony it was off to a reception for last minute pictures, and more visiting! It was a really meaningful day, and we are super proud of our super star!! Congrats Smokey!

Baby Prep

This past Monday night we had our first Lamaze class! Patrick and I both really learned a lot, and hopefully it will help with a quick and painless delivery! The instructor asked at the beginning of class for us to form two groups, the right side of the room for those planning on going drugless, and the left side of the room for those planning on an epideral........I have never run so fast........towards the left side of course! We have three more weeks of class, than a breastfeeding class, and a hospital orientation...........then we will be baby ready!

Weekend Extravaganza!

What a fun weekend we have has thus far! Kelley came in town this weekend to help with my shower and suprised us with some extra baggage....Katie! We met up with the usual crew, along with Aunt Kathi, at Houstons Friday night and it was delicious!

Saturday we hung out together (the ladies were busy bees in the kitchen) and the Michael Stovers came in town Saturday night, just in time to celebrate James 10th birthday! We all went to Red Robin for dinner and than back to the house for cake and presents! Here are some fun pics from Saturday night!
