Weekend Cabin

We are so lucky to have generous friends with a super cool cabin in the mountains! When they invited us to join them this weekend, we jumped at the chance to play in the snow! We had a wonderful time hanging out, cooking, juggling all the babies and kiddos, going for walks and to the park, playing games, watching movies, and enjoying the cold weather!
Ella, Nina, Caroline and Scarlett getting ready to go for a walk
all the kiddos (Caroline, Scarlett, Nina, Ella, Colgan, and Mia)
Caroline loved the "soft snow" and wanted to make lots of snowballs

While making dinner Friday night we looked over and found these four in a conga line around the coffee table

we love a clean baby out of the tub!

monkey see, monkey do

Caroline has really been enjoying preschool and has brought some really fun new additions from school to our home, namely "playing teacher". She makes Patrick and I sit "criss cross, applesauce" with out hands in our lap, she makes us put Scarlett in the Bumbo seat and we listen to her read stories to us. Here is a quick pic I snapped:
We are so thankful she is enjoying school and we love that she is learning so much and is ready to share her day with us when we all get home!

What's new

Now that I am back to work full time, finding time for anything these days seems impossible! So, blogging has been put on the back burner! A few things we have been up to.....

Scarlett started eating rice cereal
Caroline got a cute new haircut (since by the time she got home from school her hair was one big MESS)
Patrick lost a good friend to cancer this week, so we have been morning that loss, and counting our own blessings
Our house has been filled with lots of new preschool crafts and we are enjoying the new prayers and songs Caroline has been singing nonstop when she gets home
We have been working on a special gift for Caroline's teacher and making her first Valentine's for her classmates
We are enjoying our new normal as a crazy family of four
she was not sure what to make of the cereal, but ate it great
Caroline's cute new "do"
our happy preschooler

Christmas crafting

This year was deemed (by me) the year of Homemade Gifts. I loved making gifts this year, and I think I might continue to do this every year, BUT next year I am starting MUCH MUCH earlier! Here are a few of my creations this year!
A painted plate for my FIL (the man who has everything!)
dry erase boards/calendars for my two SIL's and my husband's Aunt K
...and the majority of my time was spent on these super fun 3D footballs for game day! I made 12 (I think) in all!

Family Pictures

We took family pictures in October to document our new family of four, Scarlett's sweet first weeks, and Caroline's growth from toddler to an energetic, fun loving, little girl! Now that the Christmas cards are out, I wanted to put them up to document this time in our lives!
