Labor Day

What do you do on Labor day to relax and UN-Labor......

Well, if you live in the desert you grab your hubbie (and a boat drink)
grab this little beauty
and head to the nearest fancy resort
to swim, hang out,
turn beautiful golden hair into perfect curls,
and eat ice cream, of course!

Daddy's Girl

Caroline when you are a teenager and think your Dad is weird, or crazy and no longer want to hold his hand in public I want you to remember how much he loves you. Daddy's favorite thing is sports radio in the morning and for the past week he has played your kids sing-a-long CD to AND from school EVERYDAY, and has sung his little heart out with you! That is one special Daddy, so give him a break, K! Love, Mom

just a little light reading before bead!

Mama's shoes

When we got home from church today Caroline walked all over the house in my shoes, she is already a pro on heels! these days it is impossible to get her to look at me when I take her picture, so this morning I kept asking her animal noises to get her to look up.
When I asked "what sound does a lion make", I got a......
ROOOOOAR.......so funny!

1-0

Oh happy day! Football season has officially begun, and there is nothing better than a tailgate and a WIN to kickoff the season! Caroline loved all the Sparky's at the tailgate, the hot dogs, and Bag-O! Here's her touchdown pose! She chowed down on Doritos (hense the orange face and stuffed mouth), I think I caught Daddy mid chew as well!
Oh how we love green grass in the desert
Car and I tailgated and then headed home to watch the game, we love being close enough to the stadium to hear the fireworks when they score (and they scored A LOT!).

Lesson Learned

You know the old saying "You get what you pay for" well that was never truer than Friday night! Since we were out of town last weekend we wanted this weekend to be all about Caroline (and football, of course)! SO, after Jimmy's game we headed downtown to go to the Children's Museum. I had read online that the first Friday of every month Target sponsors the museum and it is FREE! We thought this would be a great family event.....AS DID EVERYONE ELSE IN THE CITY! When we got there there were people everywhere! You had to wait in a long line to get a number and than once you got that number, you had to wait till they called your number (about another hour). They have a great set-up with the front lawn set up for lots of waiting: a really funny magician, a section with sidewalk chalk, a hulla-hooping area, and a dance party section to keep all the kiddos entertained. We tried to stick it out, but after an hour we just could not hang! Had Caroline been a year older, the heat been 15 degrees cooler, and the wait been a tad shorter it would have been perfect! Oh well, it was fun to get out anyway, but lesson learned...next time pay the $30 and breeze right in! waiting, waiting, waiting

Friday Night Fun

Oh yeah Caroline is excited (don't ya know this is her cheese face!)
Wanna know why.....
Because her and Daddy (and me too) are watching something EXTRA special on TV
Wanna know what.......
Uncle Jimmy playing on national television that's what!
Tonight was their biggest rivalry game vs. Clemson, and they won 2-0! Go Gamecocks!
*AND Jimmy (who is the goalie) shutout Clemson, they were not able to score a single goal on him in FOUR years!
Congrats Jimmy and Blake too(one of Jimmy's groomsmen, who scored the first goal)!

***Patrick decided a month ago that we had to switch communication providers so we could get the NFL package. Even though it ended up being a but cheaper, I was not happy with the switch because we lost all of Caroline's favorite shows (on the free channel 1), all of the channels are mixed up now, and we tend to lose signal in storms (since now we have satellite)........BUT being able to see Jimmy play LIVE (which we would not have been able to do before) has totally changed my mind!

Happy BIRTH-A-VERSARY!

Caroline you are 21 months old today.
Caroline, I guess we can no longer call you baby Car, since you are now officially a toddler. You are growing so fast, and have such a big personality. You have about 16 teeth (these days it is hard to check). You have gotten really tall, and sadly have lost most of your sweet baby rolls. Your hair has gotten long, and I go back and forth between needing to cut your bangs and letting them grow out, thankfully you still have some darling curls. You have a tender heart and love babies and animals. You have become such a great sleeper and soon we will be introducing you to your big girl bed. You laugh all the way down to your belly and have the cutest little face that squooshs up when you smile. You are generous with your hugs and kisses, and if you give one, you must give them to everyone in the room. You still love any and all types of water, pool, sink, bathtub, splash pad, hose, etc. You love to name everyone in pictures, and are really starting to sound out their names. You have the animals noises down pat, and we are now working on colors and shapes. I don't know what we would do without books, you read so much (and are now making weekly trips to the library)! You are a snuggler and really easy going for the most part.....when you want something and don't get it, WATCH OUT! You love TV, ELMO in particular right now. Knock on wood, you have been super healthy lately and those ear tubes have been a godsend! You are strong and independant and I hope you carry that with you always. Your Daddy and I are so blessed and thankful for your sweet little soul that makes life just a little bit richer each day. Parenthood might be tough but you make it worth every second! We love you little C! Car's new cheese face
just seein' if the Hawaii outfit still fit
Heisman needed a bath tonight, and our water baby just couldn't resist!
