Scarlett is 5 (Gymnastics Party)

Our sweet Scarlett Montaine turned 5 on Sept 10th! For the kid's birthdays I ask what book they would like to donate to the class and I make a snack that goes along with that book. This year Scarlett was set on an Ariel themed book and snack, so we set out to fulfill her wish! We found the perfect book (after a big hunt) and I made clamshell cookies and sebastian made out of orange slices above blue jello. She was so very excited. We brought these to school on friday (her actual birthday was Saturday).
Scarlett's sweet teacher had a birthday sign waiting for her when we arrived
Saturday, when Scarlett woke up, there were balloons on her floor and Caroline had wrapped all her gifts.
and of course, we had birthday doughnuts!

This year Caroline has been getting an allowance each week for doing chores. She chose to use her hard earned money to buy Scarlett a gift from her. She purchased an Elana doll, and Scarlett LOVED it. We were so proud of Caroline's thoughtful gesture.

Paige and Tommy sent a fun mermaid doll that she loved
and Grandma and Grandpa sent a new leotard for dance
P and I got her a new mermaid costume
we rested a bit and then did fun hair for the gymnastics party
Scarlett wanted a party at the gymnastics place we go to, so that's exactly what we planned!

Life Lately

August and September have been busy getting adjusted to starting school and sports. It's really nice having everyone at the same school this year and everyone has been doing great.

Our washer and dryer have needed to be replaced for a while now, so we finally bit the bullet the other day and bought new ones. The kids were excited to ride the carousel in the middle of the mall once our purchase was complete.

A while ago Patrick and I bought a cooking class package at an auction and finally cashed it in before it expired. We invited three couples we enjoy spending time with and had the best night together cooking and eating. We love auctions and their opportunity to allow us to do some fun things we ordinarily wouldn't be able to do, or don't even know exist!

Scarlett liked gymnastics last year, but this sweet girl is a ballet dancer at heart and needs to be on the stage! She was over the moon a few weeks ago to start a ballet and tap class. The teacher said she's never seen a child more excited for ballet! She didn't even put her heels down the entire class!

We have been stepping up our pancake game lately, this morning it was rainbow pancakes!
We LOVED watching the olympics, especially the gymnastics. One day at gym they had an olympic banner you could take your picture with!
I organized a volleyball team made up of Caroline's friends this year so they can build some skills before the school season starts in 5th grade. The are called Sugar and Spike and had their first game this morning and did great! It's going to be a great season!
We are excited that the weather is starting to cool down, football season is back, and we have lots of fun weekends coming up!
