Downtown Fun

Because the Final Four was in town in Atlanta there were some other fun things going on in the city for all of the visitors. Our favorite band, Zac Brown Band, played a free concert downtown on Friday night, and we had a great time with my college girlfriend's Claire and Natalie and our SIL Kelley and BIL Kevin, who all came in town for Cooper's baptism.
How fun to see our favorite band with our favorite people!

We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family so wiling to make the trip to celebrate with us! *The concert and tournament were an added bonus!
Sunday the 5 of us headed downtown to watch the basketball games among the fans and partygoers. We thought maybe we would buy tickets from scalpers, but there were none to be found!!

More fun Atlanta stuff

One night Patrick and Caroline went on a Father/Daughter date to a local ice cream place, Bruster's. I love that these two love taking special little trips together!

Cooper snuggles with Grandpa
Once our house was feeling better Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Kristen, and Brody came over to visit and celebrate a belated Easter. the kids loved eating at the kid table Grandma brought in from the porch.

These two will have a new cousin for Cooper in about two weeks or less!
Big Sister is getting really good at holding and rocking Coop
Cooper is getting more alert and bright eyed!
Uncle Tommy and Cooper catching a nap, I think Uncle Tommy is a natural!
The Easter bunny brought a sewing kit in Caroline's Easter basket, so she and Grandma sewed the bear and heart together.
We enjoyed the beautiful Atlanta weather with lots of walks and trips to the park

My best friend Claire, and Caroline's Godmother, Caroline thinks Claire is the coolest!

Egg Hunt

Tommy and Paige decided that despite our house full of sickies they would come over for Easter afternoon (this proved to be a rough decision for Tommy later that night :( ). The Easter bunny came in the afternoon and hid eggs in the yard, the girls loved finding the eggs filled with treats. It was not a church filled, fancy dress, house full of family holiday as we had planned, but it was still a nice day, and luckily the girls didn't know the difference (although we all were sad to miss Mass)!

Paige and Tommy brought gifts for the kids and Caroline's was a fun Easter painting craft that she and Paige made together.

a different kind of Easter

We went to bed the night before Easter excited for the kids to find their Easter baskets, hunt for eggs, celebrate Mass together, eat a yummy brunch and dinner, and spend time as a family.......but our Easter turned out a little differently.
Late that night Caroline complained of a stomach ache, and before long she began to get sick. My Mom and Patrick and I got her in the bath and cleaned up the sheets and she slept the rest of the night and woke up like nothing had ever happened. Once both girls were awake I dressed them in their Easter dresses for church and went to get my parents so we could watch them find their baskets from the Easter Bunny. That's when our holiday took a bad turn, both my parents were doubled over sick. The stomach flu was in full swing, so we all hopped back into our pj's and called off our company.

Easter Eve

The night before Easter Grandma and the girls made Grandma's special rice krispie treat bunny.
Scarlett caught with a mouth full of jelly beans and her hand in the bowl! HA:)
We also spent the evening dying Easter eggs

Scarlett was too busy playing with Ruby to die eggs, she is doggie crazy!

Atlanta Bound

Last Friday we headed to Atlanta to introduce Cooper to our family, celebrate Easter, and have Cooper Baptized!

Saturday morning we headed downtown to Fernbank to meet up with cousin Brody and his other cousins for an Easter Egg hunt. Caroline said it was more of an Easter egg grab since it was big field full of eggs with no real hidden eggs. I think the "grab" lasted all of 10 seconds! HA!
After Fernbank we met up with Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Tommy and Aunt Paige for lunch.

Cooper was pretty comfy in Paige and Tommy's arms!
While we were eating lunch a few Fireman showed up to eat and they let Caroline jump in the firetruck, she thought that was pretty cool!
