Bug Week and Girl Scouts

Scarlett was student of the week three weeks ago and it was also bug week.......so bug snacks were in order! Scarlett loves scoping out Pinterest for good ideas, we came up with cracker bug spiders,
caterpillar grapes,
and worms in the dirt.
Caroline's last day of Girl Scouts we had a fun water party with lots of balloons, and we made fun bottle blowers......everyone ended up pretty wet! It was a fun year and I think I pulled off the co leader thing again this year quite nicely!
We also had a potluck and some fun Daisy desserts!

Train Park

A few weeks ago we went to Saturday night Mass so Sunday morning we could get up and join the Dettmer's at one of our favorite places.....the Train Park! The kids love the train, carousel, playground scoping out all of the trains, and especially playing with Colgan and Patrick!

Mother-Daughter Tea

The girl's school hosts a really sweet Mother Daughter tea that we attended Saturday. They had musicians, lunch and dessert, craft stations, an auction and a raffle. It was a sweet little afternoon together!

Lots of Mother's Days

I had three Mother's Day celebrations this year.....what a lucky Mama! I kicked off the celebrations at Scarlett's school for a early Mother's day celebration breakfast on Wednesday. They did it up big and treated us so well! We arrived and received these darling corsages. They served us a huge breakfast of pancakes, egg casserole, hash brown casserole, fruit, and juice.

Before our breakfast arrived these sweet kiddos arrived for a little performance
Scarlett has the sweetest little class of 6 kids (one of the kids was out having surgery)
Ms Kitt and the class
After their performance of three sweet mama songs we got to enjoy breakfast together. I love this sweet girl to pieces.
Scarlett picked out our outfits in the morning so we would match :)
Then on Saturday I got to spend the day with one of my dearest friends at a twice yearly HUGE vintage shopping market and out for a fancy lunch. I came home just in time to catch the Derby. Every Mama loves a little day of no kiddo time, Saturday was much needed! Mother's Day I woke up  early to these little faces.....I do not take for granted how blessed I am.
We snapped a quick picture before church
We decided to hit the zoo since we had free passes and it's about to get too hot here to go much longer. It was a fun morning together. When we were zoo'ed out we headed over to Laura's for a little Mothers Day dinner with Laura and Smokey. We had grilled shrimp, rice, and corn salad, delicious!

Then to wrap up the Mother's Day celebration I headed to Caroline's school Wednesday to enjoy her MD afternoon program and snacks! They made us several lovely gifts, sang the cutest song, recited what they love most about moms, and they did four plays to show us how well they are reading these days! Then we got to have a few yummy treats with them and join them for Mass, it was a sweet afternoon with my oldest!
I don't know what I'd do without this sweet girl. She is my little buddy and likes nearly everything I do.

It was a great few days of being celebrated! Being a mama is certainly the hardest and most rewarding job I will ever have!

April ketchup

Well this blog has taken a backseat during this super busy season of life! I don't pull my camera out much these days as we are always on the run! Here is a little snapshot of our month of April from my IPhone.
Scarlett and Cooper brought home a stuffed bear from Paw-Paws house recently and it had a little dress on. When i pulled the dress off I realized it was actually a darling tie back shirt that was definitely handmade for one of Patrick's sisters many years ago. Scarlett was able to wear it and looked so cute!

The girls had spring break and between Patrick and I and a few days at Lily's house the girls had a great time. One day we swam and even found a ladybug in the pool.
Our school hosts a huge Festival every year as their one and only moneymaker. It is such a fun day of rides, food, auction, and seeing everyone from the school and spending time together.
 the swings were their favorite

Hannah, our sweet little neighbor, with Scarlett
oh these three! KJ id Caroline's friend Claire's brother and the littles LOVED seeing his this season at all the volleyball practices and games
The kids chose Icees as their special treat
the BIG slides were a big hit too!
 Coops face is so funny
Caroline was the only one big enough for this "jump onto a big blown up pillow thing"
Spring is so so beautiful in Arizona! We have been living outside and swimming every minute we can. Turning our front yard from a desert landscape to grass was the best thing we ever did. Cooper loves helping to mow the grass. Before we know it he'll be doing this himself!
 lots of Bike riding
this was always has a crazy getup on!
Caroline finished out the volleyball season. She learned so much in the eight weeks that they played, and really loved it.  Starting in the fall I am organizing a team of a bunch of girls from her school so they can get some experience together before they start playing through the school in fifth grade.
