Life Lately

August and September have been busy getting adjusted to starting school and sports. It's really nice having everyone at the same school this year and everyone has been doing great.

Our washer and dryer have needed to be replaced for a while now, so we finally bit the bullet the other day and bought new ones. The kids were excited to ride the carousel in the middle of the mall once our purchase was complete.

A while ago Patrick and I bought a cooking class package at an auction and finally cashed it in before it expired. We invited three couples we enjoy spending time with and had the best night together cooking and eating. We love auctions and their opportunity to allow us to do some fun things we ordinarily wouldn't be able to do, or don't even know exist!

Scarlett liked gymnastics last year, but this sweet girl is a ballet dancer at heart and needs to be on the stage! She was over the moon a few weeks ago to start a ballet and tap class. The teacher said she's never seen a child more excited for ballet! She didn't even put her heels down the entire class!

We have been stepping up our pancake game lately, this morning it was rainbow pancakes!
We LOVED watching the olympics, especially the gymnastics. One day at gym they had an olympic banner you could take your picture with!
I organized a volleyball team made up of Caroline's friends this year so they can build some skills before the school season starts in 5th grade. The are called Sugar and Spike and had their first game this morning and did great! It's going to be a great season!
We are excited that the weather is starting to cool down, football season is back, and we have lots of fun weekends coming up!

Popsicle Party

I purchased a popsicle party at our school auction last spring and thought this would be a great way to kick off the school year. The first Friday night after school started the Mom's group and all of our kids headed to dinner and then out for popsicles! Such a fun way to say.... see ya summer and we're gonna ROCK this year!

First day of School

On Wednesday August 10th, these three kiddos headed to school for the first time, ALL TOGETHER! so fun to have them all in one place this year! They were all super excited!

Caroline is in second grade and has Mrs Hiser for a teacher (she was her kindergarten too, so exciting!)
Scarlett is in PreSchool and has Ms Kitt again for a teacher, YEAH!
Cooper is in the three's preschool and has Mrs Luz for a teacher. She's new to the school but we are really excited about her!
Mom, Patrick and I all dropped the kids off and wished them a happy first day!

Caroline's annual picture with Lily

Cooper and our neighbor Hannah are in the same class, FUN!
It was a great day for everyone......It's going to be a GREAT year!

San Diego

Before we even had time to be sad about being home from Seattle, Grandma arrived and we headed to San Diego for one last hurrah before school started. Mom, the kids and I left Thursday morning and arrived in time to grab dinner by the water.
The kids were so excited about the beach that they were allowed to put their toes in the water after dinner.........take a look at dry clothes and hair.....it didn't last long! HA!

Once we were soaked wet we figured why not run and chase bubbles :)
Later that night Patrick arrived and the next morning we headed to Legoland for the first time.

It was a really fun day at the park! The next day was ALL about the beach!

the kids loved burying each other, building sand castles, and jumping in the crazy rough waves

Family pic

Sunday we got up early and headed to a different beach to take our family photos since our photographer happened to be in town too! On the way back we passed by the Pink Lady, where we got engaged!
We also stopped on the way back for doughnuts!
and then we headed back to the beach!

that afternoon my cousin and her family joined us at the beach, it was great to see them.

Sunday night Patrick flew out.... before I dropped him at the airport we stopped at one of our favorite places for fish tacos, the Brig! Delish!
Such a great family weekend together to close out summer! And we loved having Grandma with us!
When we returned home Scarlett got dressed up and did some puzzles with Grandma
