Party Time

A friend of mine from an old job had a baby shower today (her second child, first girl)(my first "second baby" shower) and of course the ladies had to get "doll'd up". Caroline looked DARLING, of course! *how bout those matching shoes I found on clearance for $5 to match the dress Grandma sent! I'm Ready MOM!

Our night (in pictures)

Last night Car and I hung out we both took baths

she cuddled her blankies (she is getting quite attached)
she played with her fridge magnets
and off we went to bed......Night Night!

It's a Date!

We have some SUPER exciting news! My baby brother Jimmy is getting hitched! If you are family, mark your calanders for June 12th......We are so excited for Jimmy and Kristen to start this NEW chapter in their lives!

AND.....Please keep us in you prayers on Janaury 29th. That morning Caroline will get her much needed tubes put in. I know millions of kids get these and they are a simple procedure, but whenever YOUR child gets put under it is SCARY!

This morning we hopped in the car and headed here
for Caroline's first haircut!
Here is the BEFORE
getting ready to snip
snip snip snip
and the AFTER with Mommy
even cuter than before (who knew that was possible?!)
and a treat for being so good, a new accessory!
***We also went to the doctor this morning and she has ANOTHER EAR INFECTION! Hopefully this will be the last one, tubes cannot come soon enough!

Have you been wondering what we have been up to these days?! So far this year:
  • Daddy went Duck hunting
  • We celebrated the New Year with mommy and daddy's friends Jim and Jen (although they did not let me stay up to watch the ball drop, no fair)
  • Daddy made me my first blueberry (my VERY favorite food) pancakes
  • I have a little spot on my lip (the doctor says it is just a buildup of mucus and will go away soon
  • I had an appointment with the ENT and he said I definately need tubes, so I will be doing that in the next two weeks or so
  • I LOVE to walk, crawing that's so LAST YEAR!
  • I need a haircut BADLY.....hopefully mom will take me soon!
  • And best of all I have been playing and laughing with my Mom and Dad
I hope you are all having a good year too!

Like Father, like Son

I just found these pictures and they begged to be put up! Not sure exactly when they were taken (thinking summer time since my brother is sporting such a beautiful suntan!) Brody might look exactly like his mama but it appears like he takes after his dear ole Dad!

Happy New Year!

We cannot believe how INCREDIBLY fast this year has flown by! To think that Caroline was just a few weeks old this time last year is unbelievable! Our little spitfire has gone thorugh many phases and changes, with each one being more fun than the last! She has such a BIG personality these days and we just love each moment with her. Her latest (and possibly biggest milestone) is she is offically a WALKER! She is still a little wobbly (hence her third boo-boo this year, a cut and goose-egg on New Year's Eve from a little tumble into Aunt Laura's island) but each day she gets a little more sure of her steps! Her car seats in both cars have turned frontwards (and boy does she love that SOOO much better), she has perfected the art of saying goodbye with either a wave, double wave (two handed), or her latest (and quite the crowd pleaser) the blowing of kisses complete with sound effects! She loves to give big hugs and even pats our back while we squeeze her! Due to her mother's obsession with pictures, the word CHEESE now lends itself to a really cheesy smile! She talks all day long, and while she knows exactly what she is saying all we can make out these days is ma-ma and da-da! She is still in size 4 diapers, size 4-5 shoe and clothes are 18-24 months. Her favorite toys are anything she can push: her shopping cart, her new ride on car, laundry baskets, chairs......and anything that lights up or plays music. She also still really loves books. She seems to be getting more attached to her night time blanket, although she has about three and doesn't seem to mind which one she gets. We are in the process of weaning her off the bottle, right now we are down to just one bottle before bed. Her ears finally cleared up a week or so ago, but we go next week to see about tubes. She is forever the GREAT eater, her new found love is blueberries. It has been the hardest, most stressful, most exhausting, most sleepless, most draining year of our lives, but also the most wonderful, most rewarding, most love filled, most joyous year as well. We cannot express how blessed and lucky we feel to be Caroline's parents and we know this upcoming year will be filled with many more memories. Happy New Year to ALL!

a look back at how the year that just ended BEGAN!
