Scarlett, we had your one year appointment today and we cannot believe how much you have grown in the past twelve months!

Weight: 21 lbs 15.5 in (70%)
Height: 29 in (50%)
Head: 18 in (75%)
You are sleeping through the night, FINALLY, and Mom and Dad are awfully happy about that! You go down for naps and at bedtime so easily, just a bottle, your blankie, a quick rock, and we lay you on your belly, you rarely make a sound. You take one to two naps per day, depending on how busy you are! You wake up happy and most times we open your door to find you quietly playing in your crib. You smile so hard with the cheesiest grin that really makes us laugh! You are really the happiest baby, and you think Caroline is the best sister ever. She can make you belly laugh like no one else! You are still a great eater, and will eat anything we put in front of you (you hate to wear bibs though and pull it off the minute you are done eating). You love to hug and rock your babies and pat them on the back. You have become quite a snuggler and will pat us on the back too when we hug you. You love the bath and go running whenever you hear the water running. You have been walking for about a month or so now, and are pretty steady on your feet. You just started to say HI, besides that your only word is Da-Da. You love to clap (especially to "if you're happy and you know it") and wave bye-bye. If we ask you where your baby is or your blankie, you will go looking for them and usually find them! We started putting shoes on you this month, and you think they are pretty cool!
Your hair is getting really long and curly (like Caroline's was at your age) and I think we will be getting your first haircut soon! You have been a really healthy kid this year (except for that short hospital stay in Atlanta) with virtually no need for doctor's visits. You do have crazy bad diaper rashes, but the doctor said some kids just do until they are potty trained, hopefully that will be earlier than later! You wear 12-18 month clothes, a size three diaper, and a size 4 shoe. You still have only four teeth, but number five is breaking through soon!
This year has been so FULL of joy, smiles, laughter, and fun, and we know this is only the beginning of a really beautiful life! We cannot wait to continue to watch you grow, and see what your little life has in store!
On your actual birthday last Monday we wanted to celebrate YOU so we headed to our favorite family spot, Mellow Mushroom, and then out for frozen yogurt!
