Sad, Happy, Sad

Memorial Day weekend started off sad, as we hosted a goodbye breakfast on Saturday for our friends the Caponi's as they headed East, back to Ohio, to be near family. Elizabeth and Angelo saw our family grow over the years as we have seen their family double overnight with twins Max and Dominic. Elizabeth and Patrick were teaching buddies, starting the exact same year, and teaching the same classes, and really helped each other get through those first few years of teaching together. They have become dear friends and will really be missed!! So bummed I did not get one picture at our breakfast!!!

Then our weekend turned really HAPPY with the arrival of Grandma Saturday afternoon!! She arrived just in time to help Patrick with the kiddos while I started back at work this week, BOO! Of course Grandma came bearing gifts, new goggles and pool toys for the girls! We headed to the pool on Sunday to try out the new goggles! *after 8 years of crashing resort pools, they finally smartened up this week and added room key locks to our two favorite pools, SUCH A BUMMER, so we headed to Paw-PAW's to swim in his pool! Caroline loves Paw-Paw's slide, Scarlett did too!
 hysterical!!!
Grandma curled Caroline's hair Monday morning before we headed out
Caroline's cute curled under bob, and her first bikini that Grandma bought her (STOP growing up Caroline!)
Then the weekend turned sad again when we said "see ya later" to some of our dearest friends, Wade and Jess and their boys Monday morning. They will be heading to Utah for Wade's job, and while we are super excited for them, we are SO SO sad to see them go. We are excited to visit though and know we will see them often as their family is all still here! We got all the kiddos together for a pic
Our family's friendship all began with these two becoming buddies in their fraternity in college
We finished off the weekend and Memorial Day at the resort pool (even with the harder access, we were able to crash! ) and the girls loved the splash pad!
