Two weeks ago Susie went to Heaven and today we celebrated all the life she was able to pack into 70 short years.

The service was a beautiful celebration filled with her favorite hymns, Wonderful eulogy(s)/ Patrick and Uncle David (both would have made Susie so proud), and lots of comforting words.After the service and thanking the many many family and friends for being there to celebrate with us and support us, we headed to Laura's (my SIL) for the reception.
We decided as we were planning the reception that since Susie loved sweets so immensely it was important to us to have an entire sweet buffet. Since we were unable to make desserts for 150 people, we recruited all of our friends who kept asking "what can we do"(we dubbed them our "celebration bakers") and ended up with LOTS and LOTS of desserts made with love.
Since the grandkids are all small we decided (Patrick's brother's idea) that the grandkids should send balloons to Nana in Heaven to say their goodbye's. Michael said a few words and then as all of the grandkids let go of their balloons, somewhere over the rainbow was played.
